*New* Requirements... Applicants under the age of 13 must have a minimum of 3 consecutive years of ballet training in order to audition. If you are a dancer age 9-12 who does not have 3 years of ballet training, but have been in The Prince of Egypt before, you may still audition. If you are a dancer age 9-12 who does not have 3 years of consecutive ballet training, you are welcome to participate in the Child of the King ballet camp and still perform in The Prince of Egypt. While everyone who fits the requirements for the Prince of Egypt is encouraged to audition, we have a max cast number of 95. If registrations exceed this number, we may have to make cuts after auditions.
What to expect at auditions... We are so excited about The Prince of Egypt auditions! Please arrive early to warm up, because we will not be doing a lot of warming up during the audition. You will start with a little ballet technique, learn some choreography from the show, and finish with some acting exercises.
Pointe Roles... If you are on pointe and would feel comfortable dancing a role on pointe, please let Miss Casey know via the registration form. Specify how long you have been dancing on pointe and when your last pointe class was. Please bring your pointe shoes to the audition, as you may be asked to perform some choreography en pointe.
D R E S S C O D E Ladies: Black leotard (no extra straps or undergarments should be seen. The neckline of the leotard must be no longer than four fingers from your collarbone and now low backs) Black ballet skirt (black biker shorts under skirt is encouraged) Pink ballet tights Pink ballet flats Hair in either a bun or French twist
Costume note for female dancers: Female dancers will need to provide their own black tank leotard for the performances. Black biker shorts and black leggings are also required for certain roles.
Gentlemen: Black or white t-shirt (no large logos or graphics) Black athletic pants/shorts Black ballet shoes

C O M M I T T E E S Each dancer will be required to sign up for a committee to help with the production of the show. Please note, if you have a younger dancer, a parent may be asked to help with whatever committee they were assigned to.
