INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
For His Glory Ballet will often follow Ottawa County Public School closings; however, there are times when we will elect not to follow their closings. In the event of inclement weather or class cancellations for any other reason, we will send out an email notification and post it on our Facebook page. Announcements will be posted at least one hour before class time in the event of class cancellations. Please do not feel obligated to travel to class if you are uncomfortable with the weather conditions.
For His Glory Ballet does not hold make-up classes, and no tuition reductions will be given for classes canceled due to inclement weather. When class is canceled due to inclement weather, students have the option to make up that class in any other class at their level or below.
CLASS ATTENDANCE & MAKE-UP POLICY
Consistent attendance is critical to the progress of the student and is therefore expected at FHG. Students must follow our strict drop off and pick up procedures. Dancers are required to be on time, properly dressed (following our dress code), and ready to begin class at the start time. All absences and/or tardiness must be communicated to the office, via email, prior to class. Students must be picked up in a timely fashion and in accordance with our pick-up procedures.
Students may take make-up classes (in another level-appropriate class).

CLASS RULES
- No phones are allowed in the studio.
- No chewing gum, food, or drinks are allowed (except for a water bottle).
- Do not talk in class. It’s a time to concentrate on the teacher and on your own body.
- If you have an injury prior to class, let the teacher know that you may not do everything full out.
- Don’t “hang” or slouch on the barre or anywhere else, for that matter. Be attentive at all times, especially when waiting for your turn. And never sit down unless you are asked to.
- Body language is extremely important in ballet class. Ballet teachers are constantly ‘reading’ students’ bodies in order to give them specific instruction. If you are standing there with your arms crossed and/or slumping, the teacher will think you are bored or surly or uninterested. Please keep in mind that we are looking at you for the whole class, and how you stand, your facial expression and what you do with your arms tells us how well you are listening and whether or not you are interested in improving.
- Do not let your teacher see you yawn in class!
- Do not correct other students. That is the teacher’s responsibility.
- Demonstrate good spatial awareness.
- Be courteous and respectful.
